The Kentucky Association of Adult Day Centers – Members Action Alert

House Bill 564 (HB 564), was introduced by Representative Deanna Frazier on Monday, March 2, and could be heard as early as next week. If passed, HB 564 will maintain the current definition of Attendant Care that has worked as designed over the last 5 years. It will prevent the state from going back to the antiquated and failed system of homemaking and personal care with caps on each service instead of one cap on one service. It ensures that Adult Day Health Care Providers can continue to provide Attendant Care in the Home and Community Based Waiver.

If you live in one of the following Representative’s districts, please reach out to them and encourage them to support HB 564:

  2. Explain what your company does (an Adult Day Health Care facility that provides Attendant Care through the Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver to Kentucky’s most vulnerable citizens).
  3. Explain that the proposed change in the definition of attendant care by the Cabinet effectively eliminates you from providing attendant care services to any person who lives alone and doesn’t need oversight and supervision. Feel free to include personal reasons why this is important to you.
